THE VICTORY CENTER for Arts & Communications provides a supportive environment for approximately thirty adults with developmental disabilities to explore their creativity and learn to communicate through the arts. In two working art studio spaces, staffed by professional artist/teachers, clients express themselves in a range of mediums from jewelry making, painting, drawing and sculpture to many mixed media projects.
In the Expressive Arts Therapy room, participants use their imaginations, engaging in drama games and creative writing. Functional academics classes and music therapy groups round out the program.
The Victory Center offers a unique opportunity for clients to develop their own artistic vision and to share it with the greater community through art exhibits and gallery sales. Whether they are verbally articulate or entirely non-verbal, participants gain new means of communicating their feelings and are often transformed in the process.
Artwork by Victory Center artists is shown in our Marin Open Studios in May,
the Marin County Fair in July, and at many other art shows throughout the
year.
