Legacy Circle

Dear Cedars’ Supporter,
Hal HydeIt’s always wonderful when I am chatting with someone and hear them say, “by the way, I’ve named The Cedars in my will.” Later, when I check our Legacy Circle list, I often find that this casual remark is the first time The Cedars had been notified of their wishes. Of course, I promptly update the list! Many people assume that their attorney will notify charities named by a client. In actuality, this only happens at the request of the client or upon his or her death.

At The Cedars, a planned gift includes both revocable and irrevocable gifts. Planned gifts also include the naming of The Cedars as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, individual retirement account (IRA), or charitable gift annuity. Please contact me at 831-722-3206, or by e-mail at with questions or to let us know your intentions. We want to make sure that we recognize your foresight and commitment to The Cedars.

— Harold (Hal) Hyde, Chair, Cedars Legacy Circle

Dear Cedars Familes,
Helen Schwartz Since being at The Cedars of Marin, my brother Mark has received the highest level of care and the best educational development that can be offered. Mark recently moved onto The Cedars Main Campus from the 60 Circle Road home where he resided for most of the 40+ years he has been at Cedars.

For the first time, he has his own room in the newly remodeled Pope Hall on the main campus. He continues to have the added fortune of working off-campus doing landscaping. Our family gives to The Cedars as part of its Annual Campaign and the Capital Campaign. It seemed natural to also give to The Cedars in our Estate Planning as it provides us the assurance that Mark will be taken care of when our parents are no longer alive and able to look after his care and well being. It is one small way to give to an organization that makes such a difference in the lives and special needs of individuals such as my brother.

Powerhouse Golf
Tournament

Powerhouse Golf

EACH YEAR, GOLFERS from our local building industry raise funds for The Cedars of Marin in the Powerhouse Golf Tournament, hosted by Philip and David Hynes. The Hynes brothers became aware of The Cedars while working with DiGiorgio Contracting Company on the Ross campus renovation. The tournament has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Cedars programs and we look forward to continued friendship in the years to come.
